Looks like a type of cup fungus, possibly pigs ear. I'd not be overly concerned by its presence.

Looks like a big slightly dried out wood ear. Good if you like the weird chewy / crunchy texture. Dries well, can be added to soups, miso, stir frys etc.

It's not a wood ear although it looks similar, it is Peziza Varia, it grows inside in damp buildings too, definitely not edible.

This sprang up in my garden a couple of weeks ago. Any ideas what it could be and whether or not I should remove it
