Bikes can pass a test to meet ULEZ. Some need a few mods to run rich basically.

Wow how amazing:
https://tfl.gov.uk/modes/driving/check-your-vehicle/
The system is as Bennetts suggests.
I put the XJ and the DR, which are both quite efficient Jap engines. Both say I must pay a charge.
I put in the Sherco 2-smoker and…

Cb500? Nay idea on ULEZ. Worth checking plates as a LOT of bikes pass through easily.

What's cheap?
One of the Honda 500 twins or a MT03. Suzuki Gladius are pretty good vfm.

Just got round to watching this whilst the out-laws have gone for a walk, thoroughly enjoyed and subbed for updates. Cheers

I had a CB500 from 2003, but Honda hadn't done the 'vehicle type approval', so not automatically ULEZ compliant. However, older bikes like that are very likely to pass an independent compliance check.

Great content no? There’s a couple more I follow that really get down to the nitty gritty. I mean…I’m fucking jealous of the workspace, but so enjoyable.
@Avidfan yeah that’s the tricky part. On one of my bikes, I had to submit a pic of my V5 with the emissions number. I got cleared in a few days.

I avoid the ULEZ issue by accidentally dangling a lock and chain over the number plate. I started doing it because of speed/bus lane/illegal turn cameras. Might as well carry on.

Yeah it's great, always have time for another bike resto series. Do share any more you've been following. Recently I've really enjoyed Dave Hewson's channel, Ronald Finger and Tom's Workshop.

Bought a new helmet, nexx x. Wed2, which is made in Portugal.
Impressed so far, so much quieter than previous helmets, very snug fit for me whilst still being soft /no pressure points (can't wear a shoei for example), comes with a proper pinlock and works well. Ventilation goes from nothing to prob enough for a warm country. And it comes with all the stuff every other mtfr would defo charge extra for.

Absolutely awful weather. Super windy, lots of fine rain. Useless goggles, and condensation galore. Back end had minimal grip and I was tense and out of practice. Chalk is slippery as hell this time of year.
A few hours of that cheered me up no end!

Of course, always ride with someone who crashes as much as you do. I owe him a few drops, still.

Ha! Snap. Following these as well. On the simply riding front, I follow people riding lower CC bikes fucking rapid.
At the moment though. Obsessed with what this guy is churning out. Quality off road all around.https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCLrjdcRkbmHDQ26IBBguR1Q
Also anything by Pol Tarres. NO idea how he throws that thing around like that. I really want a Tenere 700.
@TGR That's a banging collection. The RC30 is the stuff of dreams. To be honest, I'd be beyond happy with an NC30

Secretly glad to get the first dirt nap out of the way. I'm blaming lack of tyre tread and general incompetence, in no particular order. The disapproving looks from dog walkers (on a BOAT) was real today, all felt very british :D

Even de-cated the CRF sounds like a sewing machine, so very likely.

If you’re not falling off, you’re not doing it right - good work.
Any recommendations for a basic commuter that meets the ULEZ targets. 300cc-500cc, cheap and undesirable (it's being stored on the street). Not a scooter and manual.
