I went from SW France by bike. The bit after the Pyrenees until you hit Galicia was a bit dull. Can imagine from Porto would give better bang for your buck.
Great thing about a bike is if the Albergues were full riding 5km to a hotel is no bother.
It's a beautiful part of the world and I'd definitely like to do part of it again with someone. Maybe my kids when they're bigger.
@skinny @hugo7 yea Camino Portugues from Porto to Santiago de Compostela in 12 days. 2 days in Porto before, and a few days in Santiago after. Friend suggested it as a way to drink from sunrise til lunchtime, as we are not religious.
It was an amazing experience but I had not anticipated the toll on my knees from walking downhill for 20km in one day.
Edit: actually it was really mild. T-shirt weather through Portugal, and hoody weather in Spain. We got rained on only from Padron onwards, so only the last couple days and during the stay in Santiago.
It was also a privilege to have near-empty Albergues and no fighting for space.
