@BermondseyBill
it was indeed a great and informative ride this morning, thank you for leading this year. Lovely to see @spudger @DoubtfulAce @Ndeipi and others. Also a wonderful surprise to see @cliveo and his daughter out riding around Soho to take in the festive lights.with regard to House of St Barnabas, a private members club with a difference.

With reference to the Gielgud (formerly known as the Hicks, then the Globe) and the newly named Sondheim (formerly known as the Queens) Theatres.
Like other pairs theatres built in London eg. the Novello (formerly known as the Strand and the Aldwych theatres were designed by prominent theatre architect W.G.R. Sprague in the late Victorian and early Edwardian era.
Our theatre district remains world class and I have had many great experiences restoring a few of them in the noughties..

I might have popped down with a kid on a tandem but my ankle is fractured and waiting for a date for surgery. I'm doing sweet FA for at least the next 6 weeks.
Merry Christmas Waifs&Strays

It's not, that's your own ride, not the forum one.
-
• #25
Is there a forum one happening? I can't see anything.
Yep, it’s that time again.. an LFGSS tradition to ensure that no one in our forum / bike community is alone on Christmas Day. Bermondsey Bill and I plan to lead the ride this year.
For those not familiar with the routine
meet up
chat
ride at a sociable pace London’s famous streets with minimum traffic
eat festive treats
eat mince pies and sweets
drink whiskey / whisky from hipster flasks
look at stuff in windows
drink coffee
take group pic
Rendezvous is Oxford Circus at 9am, depart at 9.15am for the most classic of routes, finishing at St.Paul’s Cathedral.
This event is subject to government guidelines with respect to Plan B rules and recent Omicron Variant news.
Please ensure social distancing is observed and appropriate measures to safeguard ourselves and the public are taken. If government guidelines become more stringent, we will post on this thread
Stay safe, stay kind
