I am a rather dramatic sneezer and stab myself if it wear metal collar stiffeners.
(Rather I was a dramatic sneezer but months of damaged and broken ribs has taught me to restrain myself) -

Apparently also bones or stays. None that exciting though.

I like to call them tendicollo, balenette, ossicini, stecche, stecchette, or simply bacchette per il della camicia.

Our iron is only really used for finishing hamma bead creations these days.
The ironing board was used as a low level sewing machine stand this week so my daughter* could help with sewing xmas bunting.

Collars are pretty weird when you think about it. Just an extra flap of fabric to cover the thin strip of extra fabric that you wrap around your neck, tie in a knot and dangle down your front.

Ironing is pretty zen. It's repetitive, meditative, satisfying, clean, nice smelling and requires the menagerie to keep a safe distance, thus guaranteeing peace.
You are my Father and I claim my 5 quid.
The number of times as a kid I staggered back at 4 in the morning and found my Dad ironing underpants.

I always burn my nadgers, but that's part of the fun really.

But underpants?

I’m confused by your post. 50/50 share of your daughter, the work, or the enjoyment of sewing bunting? Could be any or all three. Also, is she manufacturing the bunting for sale, or why the / Council for Sustainable Business?

Dated a girl who ironed her underwear. Didn’t last long but she did teach me to roll my boxers before putting them in a drawer, so I can immediately find the one I’m looking for.

You actually dither over which one?
I just stuff my clean gitch in an old rice bag that hangs from some shelving; every one is a winner so no need to differentiate. -

You actually dither over which one?
No dithering here. I’m probably more decisive about my daily choice of undergarments than I am about my career these days. It’s about efficiency. Like a well-organised workbench, just a look and you can see if something is available or not.

Did you get the solid silver collar stiffeners? They probably have a name.
How have I never known about these?! My favourite shirt has an annoying floppy collar - are you saying that there's a solution to this??
