Exactly.
While I wouldn't buy a sub, if I had the spare cash I'd definitely buy a exact replica of a 1016 for $500-1k, because I like the way it looks and the history, aura, and other BS but can't spend $15k or $20k, or whatever they probably cost now. Its just a ludicrous amount of money for an old steel watch that in all honesty is 99% about the shape of those three lovely Arabic numerals.

What i don’t understand is this - if you believe you can buy something with the same production quality as a Rolex for under a grand, why bother with a Rolex copy? Why not buy something else for under a grand?
