Kind of pissed off that my Pixel 4a seems to have no way of simply recording audio line in even with all kinds of aux to TRRS adapters/ UCSB-C to audio connectors deployed. Samsungs seem to be able to do this no problem.

My work laptop is nailed down so I can't install anything on it, so I seem to be faced with buying a laptop (I thought I was free from them) or some hardware just to record a DJ mix to MP3?

I know that for USB headphones on my android phone I have to go into settings somewhere and enable USB on the go manually (and I have to do this every time and I don't receive a prompt to do it). Have you checked if this is enabled?

Also just now found a comment that says Google Assistant can mess with mic/audio as it hogs the connection whilst waiting for instructions.
