  • Frost angling to hasten johnson's exit. He's 2nd favourite with the tory membership.

  • Even this shower wouldn't elect an unelected, political appointee to the House of Lords as Prime Minister. Labour would tear them to bits, as would the electorate.

  • will probably find people happy to pay him again in the future.

Those second, third or fourth jobs will be great when he's just an MP again. Not sure the Spectator, Times or Telegraph will hire him again though.

Oh. Isn't there something about MP's with extra jobs at the moment?

  • Maybe throwing his popular hat into someone else's ring then...

  • Truly embarrassing that Frost is Tory members' second pick to run an actual country

  • Odds on Lord Frost now quitting country he helped to ruin?

  • Oh. Isn't there something about MP's with extra jobs at the moment?

I don't expect him to stay an MP for long once he isn't PM anymore. He has never had much interest in routine constituency and back bencher work.

  • there are potential locations for trident within england and wales, though each comes with geographical, economic and political difficulties

the white paper said scotland would join NATO as a non-nuclear member

  • I don't expect him to stay an MP for long once he isn't PM anymore. He has never had much interest in routine constituency and back bencher work.

But as we discussed recently, MP's don't have to do any routine constituency and backbencher work. He is shameless and lazy enough to just take the money and do nothing. It's not as if he's ever worked hard for his constituents. More of an issue is that they might turf him out - he's had the smallest majority of any PM since 1924, and now that he's damaged goods, I wouldn't be surprised if they chuck him, despite Ruislip being full of cunts (come at me @mespilus ).

  • Johnson has never been much more than a part-time MP for the (gerrymandered) seat of Uxbridge & South Ruislip. He sought out a seat as close as possible to London, despite telling Londoners he would not do so whilst Mayor of London.
The only tangible benefit of Johnson as MP, to his constituency, is the money that George Osbourne found to refurbish the underground bunker at RAF Uxbridge and build the visitor centre.

Gerrymandered: the A40 acts as a natural boundary within the London Borough of Hillingdon. How the Boundary Commission could allow this constituency to be compiled is odd. With the gradual completion of the housing in the new St. Andrews area of Uxbridge, on the site of the de-commissioned RAF Uxbridge it is likely 'Uxbridge' will soon have enough (potential) voters for the constituency to once again lie completely south of the A40.

I might write to defend the inhabtants of South Ruislip.
Those of Uxbridge can pen their own rebuttal.

  • The Thames?

    Woolwich Arsenal ?

  • Won’t somebody think of the Draytonites :/

Haven’t been over that way since leaving my job there. Has always felt like a very jumbled borough with a huge cross-section of society represented in small, but largely segregated areas.

  • Won't the Draytonites be part of John McDonnell's constituency of Hayes & Harlington?

Map for those bemused by such interest in furthest west/north west London.

  • Well of course we have only seen one of the questions asked of Allegra Stratton so far

  • Sure but I don't think it will get to that and most MPs pretend to do the MP job. I expect if Mr Johnson ceases to be PM he will resign* his seat before any election.

Nadine Dorris kicked out for not wanting to attack Boris Johnson. The group is called "clean global Brexit" lol...

It's like sharks circling the water really... and gossip magazines. As hilarious as this is, who is leaking chats and why?

  • My guess is that he'd stay until the election, due to the wrath he'd incur if he caused another potentially humiliating by-election, and the personal humiliation he'd suffer if the seat was lost, because it would still be a vote on his performance. But, yeah, obviously just spitballing.

  • To destabilise and get rid of Johnson.

He’s making MPs look stupid and they’re spending all their time responding to angry emails from constituents.

I email mine all the time even though I’m not a Tory voter. The sad sack actually bothers to respond.

  • Ok makes sense.

I find it all so schoolyard / bad soap opera to have this out in the open.

Also exposes Nadine Dorris as reasonable? Not anti Boris? So it's s way to attack her?

Just vote & get rid, we don't need to be privy of all the mud slinging

  • That’s the only reason I would like a Tory mp.

  • He’s a fucking prick. Swans round like a small town mayor while seemingly ignoring what’s going on in Westminster.

I’d campaign for our Labour candidate if there wasn’t a question mark over her regarding anti semitism.

  • Lockdown cheese & wine at No 10. Obviously it was work and no rules were broken

  • But they say it was a work meeting.

In which case why is his bloody wife and child there?
