I've owned a rice cooker in the past, until I realised how piss easy it is to cook rice using the reduction method. literally the only thing that makes it harder than using a cooker is that you have to set a timer, which I think I can just about manage.

An executive for a big client of the company I work for (its biggest client by far) saw me commuting by bike this morning and, without ever having talked to me before, went on a pretty arrogant tirade about millenials, climate change being "not that big of a problem" and how if I really wanted to help the environment I would take a cab to work (???????) helping the economy at the same time. I really have no idea how I managed to keep my cool, I think just the absurdity of the situation made me so dumbfounded I just didn't know what to say. The twist is this guy works in bicycle production...my blood has been boiling since this happened, what a fucking asshole holy shit. Thankfully I didn't say anything back because he definitely seems like the kind of guy that would try to get me fired if I did. I never even met the guy before.

Just tell him you cycle to work because it's more fun.

I got asked if I was "too woke" by an oap worker in a charity shop at the weekend. It's stayed with me until yesterday.

Quartz clocks that keep poor time. There’s no excuse for it. Woke up an hour early to catch a train for work instead of having to cycle 50 minutes, leave house with 15 minute window to make an 8 minute cycle, check my watch out of habit and… fuck, 6 minutes to cycle like mad and catch the train.

I’m debating whether to take a hammer or boot heel to that clock when I get home.

Clocks that aren't either 100% mechanical or automagically set themselves from an external source should be illegal.
