  • Any late register-ers on here?

I’ve gotten to worrying about my level of protection dropping off as it’s been a while since my second dose but because I did the valneva trial, I’m not eligible/in the system for a booster.

I had a routine appointment for blood at the start of the month as part of the trial and at that point they said basically “There’s a plan to offer you a booster but we don’t know what it is or when it’ll be.” and I could tell they didn’t think it’d be any time soon.

I also can’t get a vaccine passport which is looking like it might become an issue, especially if I want to travel abroad next year so I told them that I wanted out and to get a deployed/registered vaccine but they don’t seem to be in a hurry to get cracking on it so I’ve just registered as if I’ve never had any vaccine.

Just wondering if anyone has any experience of how quickly I’ll get an appointment or the option to book one through?

  • I'm part of the same trial and just had my blood test today. They said Valneva are about a month away from offering booster jabs but I'm welcome to grab a Pfizer booster today from downstairs (in the Royal Free). Royal Free are doing walk-ins and there was no queue today at 10am if it helps.
The vaccine passport should be fine once Valneva has been approved in the UK which they think will happen in April. If you cant wait until then they can unblind you and from then you can either:

    • get 1 booster if youve had AZ and be fine for travel / passport
    • get a 1st and 2nd AZ/Pfizer/Moderna jab 8 weeks apart

So TLDR; if you want/need a jab and youre in London, go to the Royal Free and they'll sort you out.
