Looks like a great material also! To be honest I will probably just end up going with some breathable nylon, until I can get around to going round a few fabric shops and seeing what’s available, always find it hard looking for fabric on the net never really knowing what to search for.

Gradeline in London? They do pattern printing, could even get it cut out on card if it’s going to be used many times;

Yes, That looks like what i need. You're not London based? I'm sure with postage costs it will be near price of getting a bit more local. Thanks though.

Ended up going with ezeeplan gave them a call and where able to sort out some oversize A0 patterns for 3.98 and regular A0 for 1.99 let’s hope they turn out alright. So far was under 24 hours to send files get confirmation printed and posted! Is a slightly thicker 90gsm paper so should be pretty hardy patterns.

sounds perfect - looks amazing value and service. Less faff and probably cheaper than desktop printer inks(!). Have bookmarked, thanks!

Apparently Kuhl sell their fabric, quite expensive though. https://www.kuhl.com/kuhl/other/fabric/uberkuhl/
*Just seen its US/Ca site though.

Forgot to post finished bag. Bit wonky in places, had to use awl to finish some of the stitching through multiple layers.
Still taking inspiration from the old (iL) Soigneur design, including reflective tab.

newb question that’s probably been answered before:
I want to learn how to make bike bags, just for fun and to learn a new skill, is a regular domestic sewing machine up to the job of durable material or do I need a heavy duty one? -
• #1090
You could get away with a semi decent domestic, but if your going to be going through multiple layers you may struggle with it.
-
• #1091
sweet that was the confirmation I needed to keep my eye out on eBay for a heavy duty heh

I've done a few things using a manual Singer 99K - works fine with Gutterman upholstery thread and up to 4 thicknesses of cordura, also with pvc, and for attaching / modifying webbing straps.
It wouldn't be suitable for high turnover, but I've been satisfied with my own limited efforts so far.

very nice, out of interest, where did you get the toe strap buckles from? I couldnt find a supplier after months of searching when I wanted them.

An eBay seller called Starcycle Spares
https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_dmd=2&iconV2Request=true&_ssn=starcycles*&store_cat=0&store_name=starcyclespares&_oac=1&_nkw=toe%20straps
I was also originally looking for just the buckles, but it was cheaper to buy the entire strap... -

Also look for Christophe/Zefal if you want leather.

Trying to work out what replacement zip body to get because I have broken the pull tab off my jacket zip. The zip body says YKK 5CN and the bottom stop says 5L. The Jacket is Berghaus (not sure if that matters). Can anyone help? Cheers.

Is the coil on the outside or the inside?
-
• #1099
Inside.

Maybe you can just tie a drawstring to the body without the pull tab? If not you'll need a reverse slider, to replace it you cut off the top stopper, remove the old slider, fit the new one and crimp a new stopper in place. Some more inf0 here: https://www.gearaid.com/blogs/learn/zipper-slider-replace-how-to
https://www.shelbyoutdoor.com/product_info.php?products_id=2925
https://www.shelbyoutdoor.com/product_info.php?&products_id=1864This seems to be a set of slider and stopper but it doesn't say so explicitly. Maybe someone else has a better lead for a UK source. I'd send you one of my sliders but I don't have the stopper you need so it wouldn't really solve your problem.
Not DIY, not ripstop, but Leo Köhler make pants (trousers) and shorts from what’s commonly called “German Moleskin”. Different from the UK type as it’s shaved on both sides, and some say not actually moleskin, but very robust regardless. Really comfortable on skin too.
