Do we think people sailing the channel will actually leave people to die?
Genuine question.
-
• #68854
No.
*What comes around, goes around. Don't think anyone I know who is sea going would do that. -
• #68855
No
-
• #68856
That what I believe.
Wonder if the RNLI will feel duty bound to pay peoples fines?
-
• #68857
No I think people will do the right thing and pick up people if they are in trouble. You have to be a stone cold bastard to let people drown.
It's the implication that your a criminal for helping people in danger.
Any chance the Lords reject the Bill??? -

Any chance the Lords reject the Bill???
Not a chance since they filled it with Botham types.

I've been on a bunch of Channel boats with swimmers, there's not one of those guys I believe would leave someone in trouble. Swimmers have been left in no doubt, if there is a need for us elsewhere, your swim is over, no matter how much you've paid or how long you've trained.

Electoral Commisison has hit the Conservative Party with near maximum fines for shadiness (failing to accurately report and keep proper accounting records) around the refurb for the Downing Street flat, and publishes evidence that Boris was WhatsApping a Tory donor who orginally funded it in Nov 2020 asking for money, whilst Boris was denying knowing who paid up until Feb 2021.

Yeh, they have broken the law and it's reported as a cheeky break of some processes, press are a joke
-
• #68862
And 18k fine is a total joke and zero deterrent for future shadyness, £18m would have been more appropriate.
-
• #68863
And no doubt Cressida will announce they won't be pursuing an investigation into Treasurer of Conservative Party for breaking the law as not in the public interest

I'm not sure - it's been an extremely expensive dead cat if that's what it was meant to be.

TBF he could well be offering an opposing position to Bozza, considering the sheer volume of crotch goblins he has and ignores.

Would he? I highly doubt so.

I think we call agree most* politicians can’t be trusted. By how do you weed out the BJ’s of this world and replace them with decent human beings.
Once thing that’s confusing me; how many hours a week does an MP work, especially if they have time for 2nd/3rd jobs?

There are hundreds of them. Some work hard at being an MP, others treat it as their pass to the best beer terrace in London and concentrate on other things.

Is it not possible that some of them are lying about how many hours they spend on their second/third jobs? I mean, we all lie about how many hours at work are actually 'work' don't we?
Or that part of the corruption is that firms agree to pay them for a number of hours of 'work' when all they really want is access to contacts and the occasional meeting/drink with a politician? -

tbh, as an MP, you can work as much or as little as you want. You don't have to fill in a timesheet or report to a line manager, as long as you go through the right lobby whenever you're told.
Fucking hell people are vile. some of the comments.... I know never read the comments. Twitter is just so awful.
