MOD are sticking with "crashed shortly after take off" rather than, "fell off the front"
I suppose it depends on when you call the crash. The wheels seem to have been touching the deck when the pilot left, but on the other hand there must have been a period of time during which the aircraft was touching neither the ship nor the sea 🙂
