Those clip brackets are annoying. The simple rubber-backed velcro strap on the first model Cycliq works really well. It's quick and easy to swap bikes and you don't need a special mount on every bike.
Another thing they've made worse in the newer versions.

shit mount indeed. Can you not get something like this saddle rail mount and then errr...use another piece of mounting (looks like generic GoPro copy mounts) to get it facing the correct direction?

Gen3 is £179 in their Black Friday sale.
Only they aren't shipping anything. I placed an order 12 days ago and apparently they are having 'delays both in picking orders and awaiting collection by shipping services'. They can't give me a despatch date at the moment. I'm a bit annoyed.

I'm a member of a Cycliq user facebook group (what a saddo, I know) and read lots of stories of customers from the 2020 black friday (Ugh) deals only getting their units in Jun/July this year. Good luck!

I'll give it another week and then request a date or cancellation. If they can't deliver inside 4 weeks and don't cancel I'll speak to my credit card company. And then be grumpy.

I was just using it for pricing. Even if I was keen to buy one, I don't trust the fact you can't get their stuff from most places over here and they never respond to twitter, etc.

I use the chilli cam on the front with one of these;

Video quality from these look good:

$130 bought direct. Looks like Chilli will be a distributor - £117:

The Chilli Tech web site has such vague product listings. Half the time doesn't seem to match up with what the chap is promoting on social media. Never can tell if it's the same product. Really offputting

Nice find. But that mode/record button looking down to the rear wheel will be filled with gunk in no time. Blue recording LED is a weird choice but they got the confident pulsing right.

REAR BIKE CAMERA FOR CYCLING
PRE-ORDER LAUNCH PROMOTION
UP TO 43% OFF THE REAR SAFETY BIKE CAM + LIGHT
PROMOTIONAL PRICE £117.00 + P&P (OR JUST £104.00 PER CAM IF YOU BUY 2!)
(NORMAL SRP £169.99)
** SOLD OUT / NO STOCK! **£104 per camera would've almost tempted me but no chance at £170.
Proprietary mount is annoying but not insurmountable (pardon the pun)

Slightly outside of the normal remit of this thread, but I'm looking to get some sort of action camera to film bike-tour-related content in tandem with my iPhone. You know, for that Youtube hashtag influencer life and all that. GoPro Hero 9/10 seems like the obvious call (front facing screen etc), but does anyone have any recommendations for alternatives before I stump up?
Don't forget to like and subscribe.
Am I doing this right?

What’s the current consensus on the best front camera?
I’ve been mostly ambivalent towards a camera but after a very unpleasant close pass today on the club run I think I’d like to at least run one camera for recording these incidents and sending them to the police etc.
The Fly12 looks like a reasonable option but it sounds like it’s a bit overpriced with supply issues?

I went with a £25 Apeman for commuting. Not enough juice for club runs though so don't bother using them now since I don't commute.
-
• #1095
New cycling-specific Apeman coming. Could be interesting.
-
• #1096
"Apeman says the Seeker R1 mount also comes with its own 5,000mAh battery, which can be recharged concurrently with the camera inside."
If this isn't crazy money and could be dynamo'd up, it'd kill the stupid £200 Fly6

Nah... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MmDUWA_qaTs
It's massive and will cost $400!

Fails on price before it even launches
That mount doubles as an inner thigh shredder though. Bonus.

Did you get one? They seem the best option .
Anyone use a drift camera? -

Anyone tried the various GoPro Session knock offs?
Really annoyed the originals were abandoned, they were almost perfect for commuting. Unfortunately the batteries in my pair are pretty much shot, need charging before every trip and it's easy to forget to do so.
As far as I can tell the most recent alternative is the Runcam 5 from 2019. Cheaper and better spec than the GoPros, but lack of waterproofing is a concern.
Wiggle had them for £82 back in 2015
I cant find the Kickstarter price I paid - although I did receive 3 units eventually, as they all broke...
