Late to the party, but Doctor Sleep directors cut.
Really enjoyed it, 8/10

Is that a prequel to the Duellists?

I'd not even heard of it, and I love a bit of Knightimes and don't mind a bit of Ridley.

Doctor Sleep directors cut
That filled a quiet afternoon. Watched it without knowing anything about it, then bits started clicking and then ahhh.
Yes, recommendable -

The ONLY benefit to being unable to work at the moment is that I'm able to catch up on all the films I've been wanting to watch and in some cases had forgotten about...
This was phenomenal!

Beast is great, if you want another recent British film then Perfect 10 is well worth a watch (as is, from a bit further back, Fish Tank).

I saw Fishtank when it first came out, but haven't seen the other one.
I just watched 'Calm with horses'. At first it looked like it might be just another violent small town gangster movie, but it actually really drew me in thanks to some great acting from the lead character, and actually left me pretty choked up by the end. That might be partly down to my own issues, but it was a good film.

Licorice Pizza gets a big fat thumbs up from me. Cooper Hoffman was just as charismatic to watch as his old man and Alana Haim was great, also. She’s thoroughly entertaining in real life and that really translated to her character… Alana. Just as witty as any other PTA script and of course, the cinematography was stellar. I felt totally transported to a 1973 San Fernando Valley.

Beast and Calm With Horses are both great! I had the same reaction to Calm With Horses, it turned into something a lot deeper and more thoughtful than I expected.

Lean on Pete... Another film that touched a nerve and made me cry.
For a man that spends a lot of time slagging off other people's work he sure does put out a load of unlikable toss.
