The end of the jay.
The Jays on my local patch fly out of the woods and across the marshes to bury food for the winter. It’s tough this year as there aren’t many acorns, which is what they normally cache.
The local peregrines have their eyes on them but despite seeing several attempts to catch them I’ve not seen any success ( on the peregrines part!) but they clearly got one of them!
