Anyone know someone or somewhere in London that could fix the zip on my wife’s boot? The elements seem ok but the slider needs replacing.

Ortega’s Weaving Shop
what was the pricing like on their blankets? there is zero info on their website.
-
• #3956
Starts at about $150 and goes up from there. My vest was $200. The biggest size I saw was into the low $1000s I think but this thing was fucking huge. Still, cheaper than a vintage pendleton and better made than a new one. Not sure they’re selling online at the moment. Probably have to give them a call.

yeah it says to call for orders.
I'm always looking for wool Mexican blankets. I have a few Mexican MCM wool tapestries, but my wife hates them. -

Anyone else go to the Drakes sample sale today?
-
• #3960
Thanks for the heads up, I could do with some new white shirts… anyone bought their Oxford’s?
-
• #3961
Yeah the online one is ok but not as good as the sample sale.
I made it until the 18/11 without buying clothes this year and then went a little nuts yesterday
Shirts at 3 for £150 are always hard to resist

Their white Oxford shirts are excellent, I bought 5 yesterday

Ouch. The last time I bought shirts it was 3 for £15.

you do know what thread you're posting in, right?
-
• #3965
I know, I just come in here for a laugh.
-
• #3966
Hey, at least it was a sample sale. Nice work. Jelly. Well, Drakes clothes don't fit me anyway but sounds like a result.
-
• #3967
someone really needs to tell drakes to stop producing things. The sheer number of garments they produce surely can't be sustainable
-
• #3968
I appreciate your sentiment but I don't think Drake's are even on the radar for brands who aren't sustainable. Like, it's almost inconsequential. Which I know isn't the right attitude, but ya know, go yell at Gap or Primark or H&M or Nike or any other global clothing power house.

Luckily (or unluckily) the drakes block fits me perfectly, even my m2m suit wasn’t much off. Trousers are the same too. I even find the shirts have a slightly longer arm, which works well for me 🤷♂️

Not sure if you’re talking about from an ethical point of view or just making too much stuff (some of which is always destined for sale/reduction). The later I would definitely agree with - the range of colours alone seems too much.
-
• #3971
I know you’re fishing but a made in England shirt for the same price as most high street shops would sell their version for seems pretty good value to me
-
• #3972
Wonder if Drakes break even at £50 a shirt?
-
• #3973
Ha, such bargains, I couldn’t pull the trigger knowing they were twice the price online, maybe I’ll get my butt down there for the next sample sale. Are the Oxfords thick enough to hide tattoos?
-
• #3974
Yeah they are, can’t see mine through it.
If not and I’m going, happy to pick you some up -
• #3975
As someone who makes a fair amount of shirts in the UK, I can tell you they'll be breaking even unless it's an exceptionally expensive fabric. It costs my brand £47 a shirt with relatively expensive fabric and I don't own my own factory!
