Lol.
BTW, I walk my bike through the tunnel whenever I use it.

I miss cycling through it at 2am when it’s dead, seeing how fast you can go.
I’m going back a few years mind.

Could this be the most used, most badly maintained piece of infrastructure in London?
Have you not seen the roads? :)

BTW, I walk my bike through the tunnel whenever I use it.
Well, it doesn't have feet, though, does it? DOES IT? :)

That escalated quickly.

We’re having trouble getting parts for Schindlers lifts in Germany, took 2 weeks for parts for a car lift. Don’t think it’s to do with brexit, they blamed logistics which is just a broad excuse they use

I guess we should all just put on some Otis of Reading and chill out
-
• #209
I know Otis of Reading's ex.
Her name is Kathy and she lives just off The Cut in Waterloo. -

Ha!

there must be thousands, if not tens of thousands of lifts in London…
That are also listed?

Could this be the most used, most badly maintained thread on LFGSS?

The council have put the lift maintenance team in charge of this years’ ‘welcome to Greenwich Christmas Extravaganza’.
Look what they’ve achieved!

Well the tree is straight at least. Are those the council flats by the cutty sark? Can’t believe some chancer hasn’t knocked em down and replaced with a yuppie development by now.

I missed this originally. The issue has been that the lifts needed bespoke parts to be made. The lift maintenance company couldn't supply parts in a reasonable amount of time.
EDIT: The freeholder deemed we should do this urgently and there was a process we had to clear with insurance and health and safety executive. But as the item was not safety critical, not part of the fail safe mech, it wasn't that great an issue.

• #216
Well, we can't make a worst job of it than the original lot.

In lift talk, what do you guys think about this one. Lift company advised refurbishing the several lifts in multiple blocks, as parts supply will be an issue as parts are becoming obsolete. That will mean if parts fail there were will be a greater time to make parts.
Refurbishment took place, and guess what...soon after refurbishment there were problems with the lift mechanisms. Looks like the alleged new parts to replace the parts that became obsolete were obsolete.
Or was this just a scam by the lift company. Seems that there are no warranty on lift parts.

They're now ex-council flats owned by yuppies so probably too expensive to get rid off!
I don't think I'd last long living there; being woken up every weekend to the stench of frying food from the "market" would push me away quite quickly! -

Typical.

It looks like the lifts were operational on both sides for a short while last week.

I'm pleased to note the concentration of lift engineering specialists to be found here. Perhaps LFGSS should tender for the repair and maintenance contract.
