Pixel 4a you can tap to pay without unlocking with Google Pay, shows a little credit card icon on the lock screen to remind you its on.

Ah thanks but I'm not looking to change the phone itself (S9), just the payment app. Or rather, I just got a galaxy watch and need to switch to an app that is compatible and doesn't turn making a contactless payment into a two handed operation.
