Pro-Ject Primary E is available around £150-170 and is WhatHifi best under £200 for 2021.
Don't forget to factor in the need for a phono stage or phono input of an amp (if you don't have these already).

I had exactly the same, got the Pro-Ject Primary E that Soul linked plus their phono stage for another £50 https://www.audiovisualonline.co.uk/product/15163/pro-ject-phono-box-e-black-phono-stage/ (you may or may not need that depending on your amp). Two together cost about £190 a few years back.
Obviously if you don't currently have amp and speakers then it gets a bit trickier.
Sorry to jump in as a total novice, but my GF has hinted that she would like a record player for Christmas and it's a bit of a minefield for the uninitiated. If my budget was c£200, can I realistically get something that will pass as a decent introduction to the world of vinyl? If so, I'm all ears to suggestions. Thank you in advance for sharing your wisdom!
