Is it a variable vane turbo one?
EDIT: Is it petrol or diesel need more details.

it's fast
2000k Autobahn in recent months after a 20 year hiatus makes me believe putting that on the road is sadly now history.

I think we should probably leave it as we have differing ideas about cars.
Autobahn.

I mean, feels like they had very clear idea of what the realistic schedule was - shame they decided not to just share that info with you.
If they'd engaged a bit more I'd be happily waiting for the T6, is the sad thing from the whole experience.

Starting a 2021 >180Km/h in a car on a public road list?

Bought a Skoda Superb 280 4x4.
I did not know about these and now want one. Straight on autotrader and they're all 20-40k. Probably not then. Maybe in 5 to 10 years if any are left on the road.

I did not pay that much, but mine was the cheapest on Auto Trader. It fits in a weird place, people who want cars that big are either buying them to lug family around or they fit that middle manager business man aesthetic. The former aren't thinking about buying the most powerful version, they want a frugal car, and the latter want a premium badge. As a result, they're thin on the ground, and those who did buy them new were the ones who were able to hold their nose and spec them to the max, so there's more L&K with all the options and thus higher price, than the lower trim level I got with a lot of options but not all of them.
I also managed to get a bit of a deal because I'm pretty certain the car supermarket I bought it from didn't know it had DCC so mine wasn't priced as such.
It's hard to work out what used car prices are going to do at the moment because of the demand inflation, but I've predicted mine will lose £6-8k over 3 years, at which point I will sell as I don't want to deal with the stupid bills I've had in the last 2 years.

I really like the superb, I'd quite like a Superb Scout Estate next.
Or an A6 Allroad.
Or V90 CC

The Skoda hatch/sedan shape is great. Even the smaller Octavia has an enormous load space in the hatch. You almost don't need the estate.
Weirdly, Skoda superb 4x4 wagons seem to be more expensive on the used market than their Audi cousins down here in Aus.

I have one more year of a company car, then will be looking to get an estate. Really want something that is also has a bit of poke, so the Superb is definitely going on the list alongside the usual suspects such as S4 etc.

Really really want to go Volvo next time

I'm loving my 07 Liberty GT-B (Legacy outside Oz), now I've got some proper dampers in it (PO fitted coilovers best suited to the track). After all these years still on the standard grandpa alloys, it's time it scored the meat-axe rims it deserves.
Gotta roll those guards first, though

This is pure golf club thread fodder here but the thing that annoyed me about the Octavia was that 99% of them aren't specced with heated seats. It's not like I was looking at 20 year old cars. 3-4 years old, Octavia VRS, so it's the top version of it, no heated seats.
I also wanted a non FWD car after the 850R.

• #68415
Isn't the only point of heated seats to make you feel like you've wet yourself?
-
• #68416
Funny thing about this is that here in Aus the vrs gets heated seats. Why? The sun already turns the leather into a hot skillet.
-
• #68417
Does anyone ever use heated seats?
Even on morning below zero at work I’ve never switched it on, whack the blower on jobs a good’un
-
• #68418
Yeah, pretty regularly in winter - more likely when I have been out in the cold for a while rather than going to the car from a warm house.
My new 5 series has heated steering wheel, which is rather nice if you have forgotten your gloves. -
• #68419
I had them on yesterday.. even preheated the passenger seat before I got to the station to pick up youngest. 8 degrees and hosing it down with rain.

Isn't the only point of heated seats to make you feel like you've wet yourself?
Only the first time when you accidentally nudge the switch with your elbow.
-
• #68421
True story, the first time I sat on a heated seat was in that 850R. I probably am partly to blame for the lower price you got for it.
-
• #68422
I like heated seats, went to some considerable trouble to have the Recaro race seat that I fitted to the 911 be retro-fitted with heating elements. Definitely makes a difference with the roof down on a clear winters day.

Blowers on do nothing until the coolant system is up to temp, which is a good 10-15 mins depending on how cold it is, and then it takes time for the cabin to warm up.
Heated seats are instant and warm you nicely.
I'm turning them on from 15 degrees outside temp and below.

• #68424
Heated steering wheel is the only option I couldn't find on the Superb.
-
• #68425
Snap! I turned the heated seats and heated steering wheel on for the first time this year after working outside all day. Absolutely loved it saved my ass on a 100mile drive home, trying to figure out if I can put em in an old car now.
