While were at it
Climate change thread>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Climate change should be in the news every day!
-
• #67804
It soon will be, but in worse and worse ways.
-
• #67805
Yeah, the goal is to get the fat/bad driver link into the public consciousness, as I said in my original comment. Tactical pissy whining.
-
• #67806
It is at the moment
-
• #67807
all the lazy stereotyping going on this shitshow of a thread wouldn't be out of place on a daily mail comments section about bloody cyclists not paying road tax etc.
-
• #67808
'innit?
-
• #67809
Fall in line comrades
-

Well - gravel bikes are the SUVs of the bike world. Becoming ubiquitously popular, heavier and often more expensive than their road equivalent and 90% never taken off-road or used for more than the commute.
Change my mind. -
• #67811
Yeah, exactly the same thing except that bikes and SUVs are completely different in terms of impact on everyone else. So not the same at all really.
-
• #67812
or in twitter terms #NotAllSUVs is way more harmful than #NotAllCyclists
'othering' of SUV drivers is fair game IMO
-
• #67813
I wasn't expecting much if any support for term limits from Tory MPs.

Perhaps its not intellectual laziness and just an internet community discussing a topic and learning from each other. Passive aggressive calling people out without actually addressing what they said that you disagree with is intellectual laziness and jokez.

I needed a laugh this morning and >>>>>> has delivered.

How do you think SUVs became popular in the first place? The demand was built on self image so self image is the best way to undermine it.
-
• #67821
On a bike forum? OK...
-
• #67822
How do you think SUVs became popular in the first place?
Aggressive marketing by car companies
Calling people fat isnβt going to do anything about that. Unless you have a comparable marketing budget to theirs.
-
• #67823
I guess I'm not the only one who had a lot of coffee this morning. Let's not get fighty guyz

so long as you're punching in the right direction.
Yeah, punch up, or towards fascists.
-
• #67825
If you read the original post, I was suggesting the tactic.
The best way to reduce SUV use IMO is to for these two comments to go viral and become the received wisdom about SUV drivers.
Sadly, SUV drivers don't give a fuck what you think about them, what with being selfish pricks and all that...
OK, so just lots of noise and pissy whining then, I'll go back in my box...
