Also, been having a discussion with OH about getting chickens (we're not going to, just theoretical). She asked, 'If we rescued some chickens from slaughter and kept them, would you eat the eggs?' I obviously answered no, because I don't eat animal produce, but I'm aware that's not really much of an argument if you've done the right thing in rescuing them and then have a stack of eggs that would go to waste. Is there an official vegan party line on this? Should I eat my imaginary chickens' imaginary eggs?
