We haven't even had the hell that is Halloween forced upon us yet, what is this?

The joke is christmas is getting earlier every year but this year really feels it.

Tesco Plant Kitchen now has mince pies and it's very much on and I don't care.

I bloody love it when this thread comes back to sweet, sticky, crumbly life

This reminds me to slosh a bit more Calvados into the mincemeat we made in January.

I'm really going to struggle holding out until December this year

Had a couple of packs of Sainos TTD mini free from pies already. Pastry has a good crunch and holds up well on the bike. Little more filling would be nice, but understandable given the size.

Especially if temps drop in November: a fresh warm mince pie, some fortified wine and call it a night.

Whilst up at Bespoked in Harrogate last weekend I popped into Betty’s for a few fat rascals for the crew. Saw they had a mince pie, it was as excellent as you’d expect from them.

First Greggs of the season. They've still got it.

Saino’s extra deep pies: slightly powdery but not uncomfortably so, mince was tasty and plentiful, light smell of brandy.

Tesco’s own pies: powdery and crumbled apart easily, mince was sweet but not very characterful, hardly any brandy or alcohol flavours.

Still too early for me, but still sticking with the Heston ones from Waitrose

^^ you're right though. There are 12 days of christmas, none of them are in November.

I think the mince pie season should be made 1st Dec to 1st March. Legally binding.

How about an exception this year? We’ve all been through a lot.
