Dan James were big enough to be decent with comms when I dealt with them, there was nearly always someone in the office. They do seem to be doing half the ladder at the moment though.
The other popular local one is Another Level http://www.loft-conversion-specialist.co.uk/
I nearly went with these but decided on Dan James in the end.

Mind me asking who? And where?
It's something I'm keen doing but the only people I've tried to contact so far are Dan James, who didn't respond to webmail, email or voicemail. I took that as indicative of the general state of things and haven't attempted to bother anyone else since.
