My kettle has gone. It's one of those ones with a base you lift the kettle off.

Stupidly the other day I put it on empty by mistake and then because I only needed a little bit of water chucked some cold water in.

Is this the sort of thing I can fix? Or is it new kettle time?

Depends. You might have knackered the element (probably fatal), or you might have blown the thermal fuse (replaceable). Only one way to find out.

Cheers. That gives me something to go on.

It was bought in 2016, so not a bad innings. But if I can fix it for under a tenner and save throwing it into a land fill it seems worth it.

Plus it matches my toaster and I don't really want to go to the effort of geeking out over a replacement.
