  • All your contacts and email etc will be associated with your google account so don't actually need to be synced over. You just need to log in on your new phone

    In terms of apps, why not embrace the new phone and fresh start and only install what you need as you go?

    Photos are more complicated...depends on whether your photos sync to cloud or not.

  • I suppose the give up & accept it option is probably going to win out in the end yes!

    I think my pictures are all in Google Photos, which must be on the cloud somewhere, at least the ones I've taken. Maybe I'll just give it a go!

  • You can do it over a shared wifi connection according to the Android 12 website but does not tell you how or link to the solution. (last graphic on the page)
