How was ELV yesterday?

Good fun! Huge turnout, a full field of 40 and more turned up. Was a great atmosphere, almost like Catford at the top.

Chapeau to the guy who raced on his cargo with a mini keg on the front: beers all round at the top.

Made onto the ELV Instagram but didn’t bother the podium, as expected. Nice to ride out and actually eat the cake afterward for once!

I heard a rumour yesterday that 2022 will be Horseshoe Pass in north Wales. 4km, ~6% and about 10 mins. Well into that!

Yeah proper baller move uploading to Strava when doesn’t normally put everything up normally. I follow Laverack on YouTube etc and he’s gone all in training despite this not being a course that suits him that well, but is stuck on a bike for contractual/logistical bike supply reasons that’s about 7KG, really feel for him.

FWIW, my dad held the Nomads club record at one point, I still have the bike he used. Me and my little bro had a go in 1987 when the Mitre held their club championship on it, and I still have the bike I used too.
