Oh wow, didn't realise it took so long!
I mean that would be awesome, but only if you're sure you don't mind?

If ever the forum doesn't work for you we've used shapeways at work a few times who will do whatever job you send them.

Out of curiosity, what are they for?
-
• #237
They’re tools for the different jack nuts used on Eurorack modules.

I need to get one of these printed (ideally in titanium) because Cannondale cocked up with the 2020 SuperSix Evo and I got one cheap:
https://www.cgtrader.com/3d-print-models/hobby-diy/mechanical-parts/cannondale-supersix-evo-repair-titanium-insert@dbr recommended Shapeways but they don't seem to do ti. We reckon stainless would work fine, but they guy who designed it recommends ti because apparently it bonds better. It's also lighter of course.
Can anyone recommend anywhere for getting this done?

Materialise.com does titanium. Never used them but they’re about as big as Shapeways so should be good.

Looks similar to Scott foil I had about 8 years ago where the seatpost expansion bolt affair was stronger than the back of the frame, even with an accurate torque wrench, sand paper and most coarse grip paste the seatpost would not hold a 75kg rider up for any length of time and slide into the frame. So folks would increase the torque on the bolt until your held, and then the frame would split open. I only ever had the "updated" frame, and it still did it. Cannondale done the same design?

Ah nice. I assume so you have lightweight tools with you out and about rather than workshop use.

How much success have people had with printing out (and using) custom rack mount fittings?
I'd like to get some fittings printed for a modem, switches, and a few hubs & Pi bits.
Do they hold up well in general?
[Edit]
And is sketchup good enough to create templates?

Actually, at least for me, the idea was that the 3D printed material would make scratching the aluminium panels impossible. But after a couple of uses one of the tools has worn completely and doesn’t grip the nut so I guess it’s too soft a material after all.

Some carbon fibre infused filament. Can't find it now so can't confirm exactly

Could someone possibly do me a favour and convert the attached Sketchup file to a .stl?
I plan to print it on an Ultimaker 3 if that makes any difference.

Thanks for this but I think looking at the design, it’s probably always going to happen.
I will just learn to be more careful with my metal tools!
Edit: Slightly different question, does anyone here have any experience with CNC of aluminium and subsurface or UV printing? Trying to get some quotes for an idea on prices for a small amount of 2mm cut and anodised aluminium panels.

Thanks!
My next chance to print will be in a couple of days. Will report back :) -

Test piece. Will get it made at shapeways.

Hi all, didn't know this thread existed, but as usual when you need to find help the forum usually delivers!
I'd like to get a few pieces 3D printed for some speakers I'm repairing/modding and wondered if anyone here would be so kind? Happy to pay whatever the going rate is, just can't seem to find anything online that'll do small one off orders that get good reviews. Any help greatly appreciated.
