  • Nice as it is, I think that’s a fair price. Original is almost always worth more than modified.
A modified car makes people think it has been abused and everything is knackered and thousands therefore drop from the price.

Then there’s the interior which in the photos just looks filthy and unhygienic, and will have potential buyers budgeting for a complete replacement.

  • Anyone have any experience of a vehicle having the EA189 emissions fix and reduced performance afterwards?

Hearing a few horror stories online but hard to gauge if it's just people love to shout about things going wrong, rather than not making any noise when everything is OK

  • Kaz Yamamura's (IFHT/ Mahalo My Dude) Tacoma is a particular favourite of mine...

  • The insurance on the 911 is due around about this time of year - it's a specialist policy issued by Locktons and arranged by the Porsche Club GB, and saved me a decent amount of money when I first took it out. It includes full European breakdown cover - which is around £300 on it's own if you purchase it from the AA, and also features track day cover and an agreed value, which is handy for people like myself who have modified the car.

Sounds good? Well, due to an IT issue they sent me an email at renewal saying "your renewal is going through", and I took them at their word. But it wasn't. Their IT system had stalled, and I was un-insured for around a month due to said IT problem.

I thought to check the askMID service last week as I hadn't seen my renewal documents and it showed in the Locktons portal as "pending", which told me that I had no cover.

It's now been resolved, but I'm interested to see if I get any ANPR generated tickets from the period when things were stuck at "pending".

  • I've developed a hankering for an early V8 Range Rover, which is odd as I have no intention of selling drugs in Essex.

  • how early? 3 door classic is not Essex at all IMO, second gen is a bit trickier given Layer Cake association but still ok I reckon. L322s are what I'd consider peak drug dealer and surely they don't qualify as 'early' V8s, right?

  • This one:

  • Beaut!

  • You're going to need another garage.

  • I suspect that a 3 door V8 is going to be £! so I'll end up lusting from afar tbh.

  • Not quite the same, but I commuted over the Dartford crossing for ~5weeks without an MOT (complete fuck up on my part and got the dates wrong)
There are lots of cameras, and I didn't hear a peep.
Not sure if ANPR picks up that though.

  • I don’t think there are camera-issued fixed penalties for no insurance / no MOT. They might flag you for attention by the local plod but they’ll do the Peter Griffin check before issuing a fine.

  • I still want an old Jimmy/Blazer.
Actually - what I really want is a Wagoneer, converted to an EV.

  • So this VW Passat automatic in the front barn I hired. How can I tell it ‘30’ or ‘50’ etc. auto don’t go over the speed limit?

  • Does it have adaptive cruise control?

If so, using the steering wheel controls you turn on cruise control then press mode to change from cruise to speed limiter

  • Thanks, I’ll let you know.

  • Beluga black paintwork, silver CSK alloys with black accents and the brush guard.

  • Do it.
    That is automotive perfection.

  • So the Jag is getting tatty, as the car is getting driven in to by the French poor drivers and parking.

Was thinking of Matt blacking the car. Or mixing some shiny black glitter to the Matt black paint.

  • Always wanted to do a roller job on a car after having to make one for an exhibition. Mask off, key with sandpaper, prime, then rolled several coats of yellow eggshell on. It looked absolutely wicked.
Definitely tempted by green hammerite for the e46 when the time comes (although this will definitely remove any resale possibility).
