  • So I’ve gone almost 11 months without buying new clothes or shoes (the exception is socks, running trainers and gym gear). I used to spend a lot on clothes and wanted to see how it would feel. Basically it’s been great. Worn stuff more, realised what I like and don’t.
Next thing is I need to eBay a ton of stuff I will literally never wear again.

It’s also made me really think about anything I might want to buy. I will still look at clothes shops (not so much online) pick stuff up and try it on but if it doesn’t fit a hole in my wardrobe then down it goes. I would have used to just buy it mostly.
I’ve recently been looking for a black, mock neck jumper (for Christmas) and found this one in MHL

So I suppose that is 2 items this year a pair of jeans and a jumper (birthday and Xmas). I think I will carry on next year tbh.

  • It's liberating getting rid of stuff!

Over the past decade I've shifted most of the detritus of life. Started with records, then clothes, then books. Still have a lot of formal clothes that have been essentially unworn for nearly three years. Trying to figure out what one actually needs.
One black suit, one grey suit, one blue suit. Grey and blue blazers. Some white shirts and ties you actually like. Black and brown brogues. Black and brown loafers. It all feels like costume for a party that I'll never go to!
