I really like this Specialized bottle. Shame it’s hard to get in Australia.

I've found all my spesh bottles are tearing on the popout top. Still can't beat tacx bottles, functionally great and they just keep on trucking. Yet to try the new elites though.

I'm still using battered to fuck SIS bottles I bought in 2011 or so. They're probably more dirt/mould than plastic by now but what doesn't kill you... slowly takes over your brain and starts controlling your thoughts...

Just bought two of these in red - purist, minimal branding, block colors for 7€ each at bike-discount

Chuck one of these in every 11 years or so to sort the funk out and you're good forever.

We do have a bottle of Milton for this purpose. They get done fairly regularly and I store them in the freezer when they're not in use (no idea if this helps but assume it's less friendly to bacteria)

Recently bought a couple of new camelbak podium bidons and found them so undersized that I can't use them. Annoying but I'll keep them for non-bike stuff and stick to trusty tacx ones on the bike.

If anybody knows where to get hold of these without paying Blue Lug £25 for delivery, I will be very happy

750 ml elite fly for a decent price with reasonably inoffensive branding

For anyone wanting to take off rubbish branding from Elite Fly bottles, it all comes off easily with a wipe of acetone (nail polish remover). I’ve done all of mine.

This might already have been asked, but has anybody tried these or if not, something similar-looking for something to carry coffee/tea on longer rides this winter?
-
• #239
Yes. Used it on pretty much every winter ride least year, with the screw top.

Now, I just need to modify it so my dynamo creates enough heat to turn it into a pot still...

• #241
use your frame tubes as the condenser?
-
• #242
Cheers for the heads up, picked up a couple of these last week and used on Saturday, really like how squishy they are!
-
• #243
Indeed. it'll be ready to drink at the handlebars...

• #244
great. I assume you were happy with it then..,.

Has anyone seen a sports cap for the Nalgene Widemouth? i.e. one that doesn't require taking off to drink from?
-
• #246
Not a sports lid but I have used sipper lid inserts, mainly to aid in car drinking/while walking, would suggest they might work reasonably for use on bike if that intention?
-
• #247
Bike yeah. 'Easy Sipper'? looks a touch splashy. Might revert to using the Kleen Kanteen as I've realized they do a cover for the sports cap.

You reckon it works on Specialized too? I just ordered this, for the colour, not into the graphic though - https://www.cyclestore.co.uk/specialized_purist_fixy_22oz_water_bottle-ID_81824
Anyone seen any decent designs on a CamelBak bottle?
