You forgot where you put your old ones last winter?
-
• #2178
Nah, I skipped a year, so I'm overdue a replacement pair.

I bought all my work clothes from M&S for 15 years. No fucks given. It was the closest place that would sell the cheapest shit I was required to wear. Thank fuck for WFH... back in the shorts I bought over from Oz 15+ years ago - happy days!

In related news, I have just been to my local Waitrose, and it would seem they no longer stock Mushy Peas. WTAF?

Bedtime brew is my current fave.
Decaff, nutmeg & vanilla, very subtle with the flavours though.I drink it all day

Guacamole?
Fails the authenticity test.
There also seems to be a shortage of Black Pudding in London.

Saw the new Bond film, left very aware of my fleeting youth. Was also disappointed at the amount of gratuitous murdering in the film; I know it’s a Bond story but it felt excessive especially for a movie rated 12.
Guess I’m reaching middle age.

Mentally remind yourself of Bond escaping the volcano in You Only Live Twice, with henchmen dying left right and centre.
Yep, it's you that's changed.

Damn, wish people would think before posting all these Bond spoilers. First it was car chases and explosions and now this?

Spot on. Tastes of regular tea and then jam (Raspberry ? ) No toast ☹️

i’ll be watching the film at my local everyman soon, probably the 12pm showing when it’s not full of covid kids, i notice they have a thing called ‘silver screen’ which is a midweek showing with a cup of tea and slice of cake.
only 5 more years and i’ll be eligible. -

I think you qualify already by the spirit, if not the letter, of the law

Being fully Saga compliant is a state of mind not an age.

No spoilers but there’s a couple of scenes that struck me as unnecessary killings of someone the hero doesn’t like, which has possibly happened before but I don’t remember seeing it. 007 had license to kill anyone he needed to in order to accomplish the mission, but not to kill just anyone he pleased. I think it takes away complexity from the character, and the scenes felt a bit out of place anyway.

[I am joking about the spoilers btw, the gag is that every film in the franchise gets to the same end by more-or-less the same devices - doesn’t mean they’re not hugely enjoyable - same with PG Wodehouse books]

[[Yes, I figured you were joking]]
It's that time of year again, starting to look for a new pair of snuggley slippers, love middle age.
