tern gsd
I've discounted this as I want the kids upfront. I assume they like it more. No evidence tho

VERY nice!

I almost never think about my child when making these decisions, what do they know?!

Awesome. When can we expect an August Cargo bike?

The Classic black one is mine, it’s early STEPS with XT 4 pot brakes and Di2 Alfine 8. This is a replacement stem as when we fitted the canopy for bub transportation the first stem wasn’t tall enough to clear it. The white one is my other half’s. He built it with an Ultegra RX/CX groupset before GRX was a thing. His has a modified fork for 12mm through axle and we both have custom 20” Gilles Berthoud front mudguards that need to be fitted before this winter.

We did think about it, but Bullitts are so good that we didn’t think we could improve upon them without going crazy and using centre hub steering or something like that.

Amey, what was it you ended up disliking about your Bullitt? I thought you had the full canopy and seats which made it ideal for kid carrying?

its fine, i dont dislike it, i just think for my primary purpose of (one) kid carrying, there are better bikes out there that I can share with my partner

When are you going to come and test ride my Load 75? Should be picking up tomorrow.

High bar does a lot for stiffness /resistance to bending on its length. Step through frames need huge girders to get anywhere near close to that of a high bar. On a regular bike there is a difference but its not bad, on a cargo its an issue.
UA if you have a decent load on you can feel the front end of the frame vs rear triangle twist under hard pedalling /cornering forces. On most of the trike cargo bikes (babboe /cristiana) that twisting goes from "sort of noticeable, but not an issue to an average user", to "holy fuck when you turn left, these thing bends so much the back end turns the other way" and you get a speed wobble at 8mph on a gentle left hander.Last year a group near me tried a few 2 wheel cargos, decided they wanted a trike for some reason (i think folk expect them to be more stable?) bought one online without trying one first (I had warned them but...). Thought it was great for kids. Then on 1st week of using it got a speed wobble on (10 to 15mph)lost control, and turned over into the road. Kiddos were fine as all had seat belts on,the dad got a sprained wrist, could have been worse. One wheel, bar and a brake lever mangled, but it'll survive.

never felt front / rear stifness was an issue on the UA XL personally, have often had upwards of 200kg on the front.
yeah, it's quite frustrating how everyone seems to automatically gravitate towards trikes as 'safe' 'stable' 'foolproof'. they generally seem pretty dodgy to me at reasonable speeds having ridden a few

Yeah, unless you get one of those leaning ones, spoked wheels and lateral forces can get in the sea.

I rode a Christiania for the first time a few weeks ago and I was really surprised how wibbly wobbly it felt. I want to say it's probably not a problem because they're mostly ridden (stereotypically) slowly by mums with a couple of small kids onboard, but there's a mum round here who absolutely smashes her one up the road! Always impressed by the way she hauls that thing.

Our old sandwich guy has one and my gawd he was quick on it, 2 wheel turns were a big favourite, mind you I had to weld it up at least once a month. He’d always find somewhere new to break it, but I never paid for lunch :)

You seen my messages? I’m ready to pay!

I know I haven't asked directly but has everyone been working on getting me a cargo bike so I can carry on not engaging with doing it in a sulking way? Good, what have you come up with?

Also had my old one up and down some of the spicier hills of South London before I sold it on.

While I was sulking all the shop stock was sold. Width of box an issue.

With the three seater with one child sat forward and one backward kids will have more space than the Packster.
can we see the whole bike!?
