Not entirely convinced by the stiffness of this detail:

Looks fine to me
What's the concern?
-
• #3886
The braking force onto the caliper will want to push it forward, against which the two stubs will work in bending rather than push/pull, generally less stiff. I'd expect chattering

That’s stunning, really clean build. There’s some good stuff in here this week

I get your concern, but we have built plenty of bikes like this with zero issues. The forward post/brace is brazed to both the seat and chain stay, the majority of the forward post above the seat stay is pretty much solid because of a stainless insert that is silver soldered into place that provides the thread for the calliper fixing bolts. The posts themselves are 0.049” wall 1/2” diameter 4130 tubing, so pretty stout! They are also direct mount for 180mm rotors instead of using an adaptor that could potentially work loose or introduce misalignment.

Nah, plenty builders have tried similar with much success. It works against the loads. Look at the size of those tubes!
Now remember how many brackets people use to prop up caliper for a bigger rotor@RunRabbitRun yeaaah, that put a nail in it.
Really lovely build. That rear dropout is lovely and clean. One of my favourite bikes in quite some time -

Thanks for the kind words!

Other news, I just got one of these frames and really considering going for that single life. Only issues is a fat crack on chainstays.

Nope. Ain’t a thang. Your work has always been pretty spicey. I still come back to Jen’s commuter build at times to feel inspired.

My Indy fab . Changed around recently to add suspension and straight bars. For years I ran it rigid and Jones bars , but fancied a change.

Ohh
That is lovely , yours ?
Interesting to compare the geometry with like above .
That seat tube look steeper in yours, but head angle slacker.. smaller frame i guess
