People who the R+M P70 suits, really like them. Seriously doubt there will be any scrappage or writting off of otherwise good high value bikes. Imagine they will allow folk who are keen to keep the bike to keep the 'stock' position, then when they get a fix you'll be offered it back. But in the mean time if there has been a serious incident causing serious harm or death they will be obviously extremely keen to get those bikes off the road until resolved. Even though the risk of whatever that exact failure was to happen to a significant % of other bikes is likely super low (R+M don't make crap), it could even be an assembly error*
*The number of dangerously 'put together' bikes I've seen since march'20 has been mind boggling. Way way worse than I've seen in 20 years at this. 50% folk who bought online and have caused it themselves, 50% built IN STORE at the usual suspects (large retailers beginning with E or H) but also independent small shops that I would otherwise direct people towards. So could even be that, in most folks brains 'too tight is better than too loose' which can result in some interesting incidents.
I am really struggling to get over this. I don't think it is an overstatement to say it was my favourite bike ever.
