I bought something from VeloSolo last week, so they're still a real shop ;-)

Not feeling the gears?
What ratio will you go for? And what freewheel?

Urghhh. If back this way always welcome to pop round and we can sort, will have to suffer the shoe thieving attentions of the minx who is now 15 kgs!

@Tijs @Oddo it will be like 30-21? Super spinny, maybe I can get a dingle speed type situ with a 19-21, will ask the shop
@BareNecessities i still don’t believe it luckily I have the set that @atk sent me to put on
@amey I have been meaning to go to these but the seem to be swamped last time I checked, just want to drop in and pick up
@velosaurus 15kg!!!!! Ommmmmggg!! Need more pictures Imo,
After visiting Bracknell for the first time in months today I think I’ve sworn it off for a while
Riding it back from Waterloo down q1 was quite nice, it’s a good bike, reach seems mad now I’m used to the sweeps of the pomp, my core was engaged.
But overall it’s a nice bike and I think once single speeded and not carrying a bunch of stuff, it will feel quite fun to pootle around on
Took it down surrey? Canal path, you know the one between Burgess and Peckham, v good doing the little hiker trail, and then down the steps before crossing to Peckham high street. 2.1 baby.
Needs a cheap inline post I think, maybe a couple cm of the end of the bars, will be fine

I think the dingle speed pro setup would be two chainrings in the front and two cogs in the rear. two different ratios that come to about the same chain length. One ratio to ride to the fun and one ratio to ride the fun.
I tried 34/18 on the wrist recovery bike before putting gears on and it was okayish on the road if you don't want to go anywhere fast. I struggled with an offroad climb though. If you want to try different ratios I think I have a 34 and 36 chainring and an 18 and 20t sprocket you could borrow.

Waterloo down q1
Took it down surrey? Canal pathThis is my regular if I dont go via Ladywell, tried C35 the other day, runs parallel to Surrey Canal Path, slightly more direct to go to London bridge if you are coming from Dulwich/Forest hill-ish via Peckham.
I have heard that they are going to extend it to south as an alternative to Rye Lane (RIP).

I might try that 18t if you don’t mind? Will get the bike done first tho then start messing with the ratio, all that matters to me is it gets up the hill by nunhead station and possibly the one over by new cross before the big road without too much faff

+1 for dinglespeed (2 front & 2 rear). Used to run my Singular Rooster that way with 2 pairs of wheels . 32x20 on 29 x 3 plus nobblies for weekend off road. 36x16 with 2" slicks for weekday riding about on. As long as the number of teeth front & rear add up to the same number there is minimal difference in chain length.

The very nice @Thrasher swapped this over today, took some serious arm action to free the cassette but it now has 10 less speeds
Took it for a spin on 21-30, I think I could go to 19 at the back? And it would be spot on? The cadence is a little high for me, even on the hills, would be perfect for off road tho, or even loaded mixed terrain.
A little extra speed would be nice as it spins out before you get up to speed to hit a jump currently
The clean cockpit caught me off guard, and ideologically speaking, it feels a lot more like a bmx now, but lighter too?
Bars will be cut, bb will be sorted
But it’s great :)

Ended up buying a 16 and an 18
Also the spacers to fix my bb
And some brake pads
And a 8 speed chain
Am I going to fit them? Dunno, housemate has rona so I have all the time in the world to do it but instead I’ve just sat here watching movies from the 1990s and chirpsing people in my phone

Rewatched fight club since [redacted] and fam, lemme tell you, that shit goes so hard, the car crash scene? Fuck. Yuh
Also watched battle royale, classic for a reason Imo
Thinking of a night where I watch blade Runner, the matrix and then fight club, then some andrew Callaghan to wind down some b**rs

the matrix
Watched this again recently. The bit in the first scene where Trinity jumps through the window onto the stairs? Fuuuuuuu
I wonder if Toys stands up. Was very prescient given I think it came out way before the predator drone was launched
Edit, narrators voice it doesnt -
• #1448

Seshed Demolition Man recently, the Euro cut where they badly dub ‘Pizza Hut’ over ‘Taco Bell’. A real rollicker. Wesley Snipes hot af.

a night where I watch blade Runner, the matrix and then fight club
A perfect evening, only improved by the addition of Trainspotting.
Hm yeah sounds like shop job.
Love the homer. It’s going to be pretty sick as a SSMTB too. What ratio are you going to ride?
