That's rather nice!

Unlike the US LEs, the SBGW267/269 aren’t limited. I was told the UK allocation “would be low”, but they would say that, wouldn’t they.

The new green Christopher Ward GMT looks pretty nice

where can I get a nice blue suede strap in 19mm from a shop in London or at least the UK?
-
• #58131
No idea about a physical store in London that would do nice straps, but there's these:

A few years ago my girlfriend gave me this which was her hoarding grandfathers. At the time she saw it as a bit of a joke as it was so grubby and had a mind of its own, it stopped working after about 8 months. I hadn't found a shop that was interested in looking at it and was a little worried about taking it apart myself. So eventually I got the tools together, took it apart, replaced a couple of clips and did a bit of metal bending and it's back working. Has a touch screen calculator too, which is also now functioning!

Whilst we're talking straps, I'd like to change this up and put it on leather now that it's back on office duty. Any recommendations for a nice 20mm strap that won't break the bank?

This is ace. Nice one!

My standard recommendation is the Rios Mittenwald in whichever colour you prefer:
It's not the most formal strap (not sure how smart you want it to look), but it's nicely made and very soft and comfortable.

thanks, looks nice and supple that. Might go for something a little more formal though. Or I might just get both!

That's great!

What's the buckle width on those, 16 or 18mm?
-
• #58140
Buckle is definitely 16 on the 18mm and 19mm Mittenwald straps. I think also on the 20mm, I have a 20mm one as well, I'll check.
Edit: yep, also 16mm buckle on the 20mm.

like that apart from the numerals, bit first year graphic student IZ

It’s not uncommon for watches to have this numerals in the 60’s, Yema did previously (Oris too).

Just coz that typeface is old doesn't mean it's good ;)
-
• #58145
fair enough if it's accurate to older models - for me though I just think of everyones first stab at typography and its inevitably drawing characters constrained by a box, even if it renders them unreadable (I've done it too!)

I don't like it that much... Bezel is a direct copy of the Yachtmaster 2 and the hands look like a mess imo

Cheers, I prefer 18mm so there's less taper. Nice straps otherwise.

That’s what your wife said.

Probably because people couldn’t get the limited and nicer Grand Seiko European boutique edition so they turned to this instead 😂
I jest I jest. Who knows.
