Wasn't it 80k?

Where to buy socks? Merino, long, subtle patterns, wearable with boat shoes, desert boots, chukka boots.

Are you just trolling me now?

Deadly serious.
I googled French army two-tone fleece socks, but nothing doing.

The French army, quite properly, track all internet usage before opening up their ecommerce portals to potential buyers. No-one who has publicly endorsed boat shoes will ever find their online sartorial offerings.

As a man who I know values comfort, I see you in a lovely soft pair of boat shoes before long.

• #3911
No but their socks might be what you are looking for 😅

Where's good to look for decent but inexpensive plaid shirts? It's for a gift for a friend who I think has bought an absolute maximum of 4 new items of clothing in the 10 years I've known him. It's his birthday coming up and last time I saw him he was wearing a shirt that only had one sleeve. Crusty bastard.

Sounds like he wouldn’t necessarily want something new.
What about decent to really nice second hand? -
• #3915
I'm open to that as well!

I have a down coat I’d like to get dry cleaned - should be fine or anything to watch out for?
-
• #3917
Down as in puffa type jkt? I thought down jkts couldn't be dry cleaned as the heat and stuff effect the down and the jackets loose there ability to trap air. You can was on normal cool wash and tumble dry low. with tennis balls to fluff the jacket

• #3918
Yep. If there’s concern about wear and tear you can gently wash it by hand in a bathtub, there’s lots of you tube vids on technique.

• #3919
Yeah down puffa coat - but it’s a big knee length affair. Ok will go down a YT rabbit hole 🙂 thanks both

Popping into town tomorrow to invest in some decent chinos - vintage prep style rather than military wide leg. On my hit list is Son of a Stag and American Vintage (never been to either), other recommendations please!

after some new socks. the best i've had so far have been Wigwam Cypress (see picture below), but can't seem to find them in stock anywhere in the UK. Has anyone got any suggestions for similar socks (and preferably cheapish)?

Goodhood have your back on Wigwam socks at present.
Been enjoying rototo for weekend wear but similar pricing to wigwam so not the cheapest.
Anyone tried Asket knitwear?
