I thought we established this a few pages ago? Clearing £10k a month net salary = not rich. Inheriting half of Norfolk = possibly rich. Mate of @stonehedge invested in crypto = rich.

Lock-up or full-blown petrol station? According to your input in the car thread you already employ a full time mechanic.

This thread is the Brexit of LFGSS - a nasty surprise in its occurrence and an almost daily reminder of things to be miserable about.
This place is far the worst for it although the schools chat was interesting.

I don’t get it. In what way does being in the top 1% of earners not make you rich, because there’s a younger person at work who has been gifted an entire property? Lol.
You can skip around the issue all you want, but it’s pretty hard to spin being a top 1% earner into not being rich. It’s not that deep. If there’s a scale that goes from 0-100 and you’re on 99, it takes some serious gymnastics to not see how you fit into the pecking order.
Also I feel it’s worth pointing out that this ain’t a dig in any way, but just a nudge towards people being a bit more realistic about their relative situation.

It's just some mild trolling. If anything, I would say there used to be a lot more trolling on LFGSS. Popcorn thread barely gets posted in these days.
On the other hand, the whole forum might be improved by the simple homily 'if you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all'.

He does say in the same comment that he considers himself rich though. Just there are a whole lot of richerer folk.

Which I can definitely get behind. I am a perpetual bait taker at the moment for some reason. I’m tired mayne.

And that's a positive change from "I'll grow old, live in a social housing facility, will die alone"
Nothing wrong with being well off.

I suppose the argument is that you’re not wealthy until several (or a lot) of those months have passed and you haven’t spent it all.
I know freelancers who’ve cleared £15k in a month, then not had paid work for another 6 months… -

As I say, 99 on a 1-100 scale. Yes that final 1% has an almost impossibly steep curve, but just because you’re not bezos doesn’t mean you shouldn’t have an entirely reasonable bit of perspective on where you’re at.

The market on Chatsworth road? Mrs Hammer used to spend a fortune at the Japanese food stall there! Only £4 a pop but 5 visits of a Sunday morning!
I’m buying a couple of garages whilst eating my toast.
