Look how close that Swiss rider is to striking his pedal in pic 1!
-
• #36903
Isn't Polanc even closer in picture 2?
-
• #36904
Micrometre clearance indeed. Nobody went down on this corner but looking back there was surely some pedal strike.

I don't think I've ever watched a road race, let alone a WC, from 200km out, but was glad I did this year.

I was just saving it for one attack, and I waited too long and I missed the train.

Julian Alaphilippe: 'I don’t want to become a robot; I want to continue to race with panache'
Panache.

Fingers crossed.

“I want to continue to attack, to enjoy, to race with panache - even if I lose sometimes or a lot of times. I want to give everything to try and win, with my heart, and that’s even more beautiful when you have the rainbow jersey on your shoulders.”
That wasn’t quite it from the new world champion.
“Thank you,” he said as he stood up, “and Merry Christmas.”
I wish I was as cool as Juju.
He said that the booing made him ride faster.

• #36914
Merry Christmas, indeed! What a guy
-
• #36915
hes never been my favorite rider but its hard to dislike how he rides. Its really great to have so many attacking riders in the current peloton
-
• #36916
Juju was brilliant.
He rode to win, the Belgians rode to prevent others from winning. -
• #36917
Source? Would like to read.

he Belgians rode to prevent others from winning.
No they didn't, they rode to set up Van Aert, but he didn't have the legs in the final 20 km.

Excellent work by the Belgian DS to get Remco to exhaust the team leader
-
• #36920
Nah the French attacked early which fucked him (and very one else). Remco keeping the tempo up was deffo the sensible move
-
• #36921
He probably went too deep in trying, and succeeding, in winning the Tour of Britain. Getting your form right is one thing, but turning yourself inside out to beat the up and coming home prospect in a chipper of a race is another.
I don't think you can argue against the Belgian tactics, they eliminated a large part of the field and created a selection of less than twenty riders which included three of their team. A smaller group was much more manageable, especially on an urban circuit like the Leuven one.

• #36922
Also. He didn't win.
So they will be happy. -

And more reason to hate on Astana, they’ve confirmed the signing of Gianni Moscon.
-

They were all russian to sign him. Before you edited it.
I think it's vaguely acceptable for Flandrians to boo anything French. Regardless of context
