Burning the fucking shit out of my hand because I'm a stupid bastard. I was sensible enough to use an oven glove to pull the pan out of the oven after an hour but not sensible enough to use the oven glove to remove the lid.

peel a potato, and place the flesh side of the peel on the burn, lightly bandage to hold in place, pain will go almost immediately and the peel will prevent scarring and blistering

Might have missed the boat this time but good to know for next time! I've just been sat sulking with my hand in a bowl of cool water which has had an alright result.
