Thanks.

No problem. Should add that fortunately I've claimed with neither. Lots of rave reviews about claims with Laka, Getsafe are German and new here but I couldn't find any bad ones...

That'd be a damn nice house to buy

Think we paid c.£1k for two walls - one with a cranked beam. Just one site visit and then a lot of faff to deal with our incompetent builders.

I like that a lot. Could be great.

This could be good

2000 sq ft. Crumbs. That would be worth 1.3 when it's done wouldn't it?
Did you actually bid on the all done aldersbrook one ?

I think the sound of your cars are going to stand out amongst this lot.

I really like the house, the decor is a little bland for sure but I think what you put in it in terms of furniture would change that dramatically. Key thing is that it doesn't (look!) like it needs 200k throwing at it before it won't electrocute you or drop you through a rotten floor.
And I really liked Peebles as a place when there on holiday - but of course that's not the same as living there.

No idea where that house actually is...found it 121 Dalston lane

Struggling to find a fucked end of terrace house on Dalston Lane on street view, anyone worked out where it is? So much potential there.

Wayland Ave, just off Dalston Lane.

If anything a better location than D Ln itself.
Close to that Tesco too.Security measures suggest it has been vacant for some time.

The Scottish system is one that I find hard to like, tbh.
"Make a guess, then either miss out of live the rest of your life thinking you over-paid".
Yeah , the "offers over" can be a bit of a minefield, especially in high-demand areas where the sellers just go to a closing date & folk start throwing cash around, literally, blindly.
If you can talk to the sellers directly it's often useful - last time we bought we told the couple we really liked the place, weren't tied to a chain, were flexible with dates & asked them how much they were hoping for as we were in no way interested in entering a blind bidding war with 10 other folk.
Good thing up here is that once an offer is accepted there's less chance your solicitor will phone you up a week before you move in & tell you that you've been fucked over and someone offered an extra £20k...

Now that I think we can all agree needs well north of £100k throwing at it!

Who was it that posted a picture of their 3x radiators elegantly connected with copper pipes? Looking to show a plumber before they do it weird. Tried the search function but no luck.

I hate your botched concrete tiles to collapsed flat roof and next door's faux slate / dry ridge horror show
