Drop Stephen Brooks a line. He is the architect I used for my renovations and be has a building engineer I used that calculated the steel beams for my knock through. It was part of a bigger project so there were economies of scale at play but I suspect you might be able to shave a little bit of money off the quote you have at the moment.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a structural engineer in (east) London? Looking to knock through between living and dining room in our Victorian terrace and need calcs/plans for builder and bc.
Had a quote of £850 which struck me as a bit high. But maybe it’s not unreasonable?
