to your seatpost
Or to your rear rack if you want it to be lower

is your work bike in brockley with bullmoose?

No, I don’t have a work bike at the mo!

I built a trailer specifically to be adaptable for long loads after getting a section of 4x8 (NA plywood spec) home by tying one end to my rack and the other to our Burley Travoy. It wasn’t easy, but it was inspiring…
The one I built has an arm that can be switched out for any length, making it useful for longer loads. -

Did this a few years ago, skateboard, some straps and some walking poles. I did put a light on the bottom rung though 😂

hmm, it's a 3-stage ladder and weighs 37kg. Did toy with this sort of thing when I first got the UA but it seemed a bit scary

I think I’d be tempted to put the wheels nearer the middle to shorten the turning circle, it may swing out wide though

yep, good thinking

I would definitely tow a ladder of this size,
but as said above try to have the wheels closer to the bike.
And then mount a rearview mirror so I am constantly reminded of it... -

It sort of seems like a matter of time before a careless driver smashes into that!

The perennial reality of cars. Any object in outdoor public space, human, animal, street furniture, other vehicles, will at some point be smashed into by a driver.

Not sure, more just to try mini_com in anything first. I also have a hard width limit of 700mm if I'm going to be able to get it down the side passage (two house exterior walls, no changing that), so that will be a factor.

Packster 70 is, perhaps unsurprisingly, 70cm at the widest point.
If you couple the ladder to your seatpost using a ball joint (ie haerry clamps that Carla cargo use) i think it will be fine and cornering will not be an issue
