If you're going electric would it be best to do it then and run it off the battery?

get dynamo, why use motor battery when you have small front wheel that spins like mad, @andymatthews runs TWO lights from his dynamo.

Front mount/mudguard bracket type things. What's out there?
Passport do a few useful-looking stubby mounts for putting handlebar-size lights on forks etc. Here's an example which I keep meaning to put on mine so I can put a Knog or my headlight at the front of my box:
