You should just sack this all off and buy a Stigmata no?
Extraordinary prescience from @yeahdext
Happy to take this from @solarider and give it a new home home.
Well here it is. #gravelbeik
I’m hoping @Maj can be my new training partner/Instagramer for smashing sweet Scottish Gravé.Needs pink hubs

Is that the scrambler bar?
-
• #133
The very ones!
Wildly heavy but steal is real etc
I really wanted a Stooge frameset but always seemed to just miss one when it was my size.Haven’t used the bars yet but I’m confident they’ll give the comfort I’m looking for on the Sutra.
One minor annoyance is the laser etched logo is partially covered by the stem face plate.

Have they got any flex in? I've got some old moto bars but the shimming is a pain as they are 22.2mm. However, everytime I switch back to alloy they feel horrible. Def enjoying the steel flex but don't want to drop £75 on another set if they are solid.

Have they got any flex in?
I’ve still not used them or had them on a bike that I could put weight on yet. But the supposed flex is kinda why I bought them.
They are 4130 and my thinking is there should be a nice forgiveness in them. I’ll be running the Sutra with big 29er Mtb tyres. I’m hoping that the steel frame and bars along with high volume tyres should give a really nice soft ride.
70mm rise and 23degrees back sweep for a super relaxed riding position.
Some nice long distance single speed cruises on the horizon! -

I was actually close to just buying some cheap scrambler bars on eBay but was put off by having to shim up from 22.2
I think the price of the stooge bars is a bit ridiculous really. They do seem to try justify the price on the website by mentioning the cost of new tooling etc
£84 for 4130 bars just isn’t right.
I snagged mine for £60 second hand but in unused condition -

I've been quite tempted by these

Thats a decent price. I keep buying bars as I love the cross brace look but so many of the ones I've had are really wonky and interfer with my lights - also non are as comfy as my £20 moto x bars!
-
• #139
Yes! These were on the list but I couldn’t find any without having to buy from the US. Much like the stooge bars, they are pricey for what they are. But I noticed that review also mentions they required new tooling to produce.

Do you have a link to your moto x bars?
The scrambler bars I was looking at on eBay were only £22.
-
• #141
They're on my list, for when massive custom headtubes no longer quite do it for me anymore :-D

I’m convinced 36ers are going mainstream within two weeks. You need to get ahead of the curve now
-
• #143
Well, you can get these now...

Tyre choice is another matter though
-
• #144
Shit, 36er has already went mainstream?
Hadn’t seen those rims before.Trek will release a 36er soon. We’ll all pan it at first. But we’ll all be riding 220mm travel 36er full sus trail bikes by 2030.
I’m saying this here and now so I can quote my self in 9 years time. -

You're better leaving the predictions of future to me....
Has the Stigmata been resolved yet?
-
• #146
Slowly but surely coming together. I think I’ve got a full build of parts amassed now.
I’ll be going 2x with the chainrings I acquired from you but I’ve realised the chain I currently have won’t be long enough :(

Disappointed by the lack of deep carbon and Dugast tubulars
-
• #149
Defo needs deep section 650b wheels for the slightly bumpy path behind my house.

Haha aye thats them! Feel like it needs a few splashed of pink or purple. Considering sending the bar ends, the headset bearing cover and seat post clamp off to be anodised in a matching pink camp/splat effect.
Are the kings available? ;-)
