They still don't quite have the reassuring CLUNK of Atacs, and the left one has already developed a squeak from the springs, but I guess that's to be expected. They're going to need the springs lubing from time to time. Otherwise they feel secure enough. The platform is really supportive too on the trail version. I need some new shoes though so the cleats grind a lot at the moment, but being stainless steel it hopefully won't cause too much wear.
I still love Atacs for the feel and function, but they're just not good enough quality anymore for all day, everyday use. :(
I think for anyone used to spds the Hope are a good alternative.
Now I just need to see how easy the cleats will be to get hold of.

Was going to ask if this was just when you clip in/out or on every pedal stroke but I’ve just looked at the price of them so it probably doesn’t matter.
I moved away from Atacs to spd because it felt like my foot was falling off the outside of the pedal with Atacs but tbh that might have been exacerbated by me wearing skate style shoes that were too big for me.
Anyway, been fairly happy with spds but they don’t seem to last long before they start creaking. I think it’s the bit that holds the cleat getting rusty.
I had been buying the cheapest m540 pedals because I had them on a few bikes but now I’ve only really got one bike running clipless I wonder if I should spend more on fancier spds or try something like Look?
How are the hope pedals?
