Growing up near Ashbourne and being a Potter I should be revelling in the Derby Shit Show, but I'm really really not. I don't see a quick way out of this, but I hope I get proved wrong!

You missed out the bit where your best players got shitfaced pre-season and smashed up a car and a knee

Epic away day at Craven Cottage today, superb atmosphere, hadn't realised how much I have missed it

I mentioned court cases. One of those is linked to that incident and we’re still paying off Keogh’s contract after he got in a drunken drivers car and also failed to wear a seatbelt resulting in a season ending injury.
Stuff you just couldn’t make up, but just a regular episode of being a Derby fan.

Spent 4 years in derby so have a soft spot for them*, hope they manage to turn it round. Least you won today.
*That's despite receiving a bit of a kicking by a load of their DLF hools on a night out.

'Scuse me Lineker, do you think it's a good look to be reading out Peter Beardsley's views on a black player, given he's quite recently been banned from football for a great big bit of the old racism?

RIP Jimmy Greaves. one of the best

what do you make of it so far Tim? I have to say I'm not a fan of the style yet am happy to throw my hat in the ring of 'swarm ball'. The pressing was impressive early on but the refining of Howard wilkinsons route 1 into route 0.75 leaves me thinking i may not be handing over money too often this season.
went to the arsenal cup game hoping to see a real good dust up. got caught in a traffic jam, missed the opening 15 mins. sat down and immediately arsenal scored. went to the vine after 70 mins. absolute shocker. -

He's given us all the Spanish Archer... RIP, Jimmy...

Nice to see you around @clintsmoker
Looking forward to today’s PL games, all three on paper should be entertaining.
RIP Greavesie

Saint and Greavesie was the first proper telly I paid attention to beyond kids programmes. RIP Jimmy.
RIP DCFC too.

I wasn’t far behind you at the arsenal game. Went back to the vine at 80 but got in the car and headed home.
I thought we looked really good in the first 3 games but we’ve stalled since then. We’re not pressing as aggressively as those openers and we’re punting it up too much. All our good play comes from keeping it on the ground.
The main issue we have is that we can’t seem to score.
Games are much more exciting than under allardyce but we’re not getting back to the PL without a striker.

likewise @furious_tiles hoping you are safe and well fella

We got the three points at White Hart lane but the scoreline flattered Tottenham. We need to be more clinical in our finishing.

Alonso could've had two (that first volley!! 🍆💦), Romelu could've nabbed a couple as well... I thought we were great, a joy to watch...

His Instagram story is wonderful 😂
Men of his age should be careful what they put up their noses. His heart isn’t what it was.

Weapon playing with his phone instead of dancing?
Edit. I'm just jealous as looked like an amazing night out. -

Rep
Long story really but a brief synopsis.
Local multi-millionaire buys a club on the brink of promotion.
Failed play offs. Money thrown at players to reach promised land.
Still fail at promotion in following seasons and debts run up to FFP limits.
Club do some grey area accounting and think all is good. EFL decide to investigate due to other clubs complaining of our accounting methods and sale of stadium, none of which are against any actual rules written at the time.
Lots of court cases and independent disciplinary commissions over the course of 18 months. All the while the club is put under several soft transfer embargoes so maintaining a competitive squad is difficult.
Sack some managers and some players. Lose more money. Court cases mount up with legal fees.
COVID.
Failed attempts to sell the club to whoever is interested in buying it. Fake sheikhs, Spanish wannabe gangster, others…
Still haemorrhaging money left, right and centre. Found not guilty of financial irregularities but EFL keep appealing until they get their verdict. Club fails to pay some debts and the EFL therefore don’t pay us the £8m we were looking to get from the premier league hand out.
This is all without discussing how bad the team has got from where we were just a few seasons ago.
Latest buyers pulled out last week with news leaked from EFL that they are pursuing a points deduction for the financial irregularities that we were cleared of by an independent panel. Seems like a war between the current owner and the EFL and my team and the small businesses who depend on the club are the ones that will pay the ultimate price.
Fuck football.
