I would think that the logic behind Raab to justice is so that he can dismantle the HRA and remove the UK from the ECHR. This is going to be problematic for the GFA, but that's not stopped them before of course.

Raab knows where more bodies are than Williamson and Jenrick.

I think it shows that Foreign Secretary is not the important, or at least powerful, job it used to been and hasn't been for a while. And that Culture Secretary is now the culture-war job.

There is a greater problem here.
As long as he keeps his constituency party happy, the failure that is Gavin Williamson could remain a Tory backbench MP for a further 30 or 40 years.
There really does need to be a mechanism where proven failures are ushered out of Parliament.

Maybe Boris is trying to ensure there is a more embarrassingly awful foreign secretary than he was...

Truss is very popular with the base as she has been actually doing stuff (copying and pasting old agreements it is true, but still something that needed doing) that can be claimed as a "benefit of Brexit".

Putting her somewhere that she'll get a more difficult brief can't hurt Johnson - either she does well, which reflects well on him, or she bombs, neatly removing a leadership rival in '24.
